Why did you choose Whidbey Island?

For us, Whidbey Island is a perfect location in the Northwest to have land and build our dream home. It is typically under 2 hours from Seattle (including ferry). You can get away from the city yet still have small towns with shops, farmers markets, restaurants, and a strong sense of community.

You are building this really cool glamping tent. Can people stay there?

We are looking forward to sharing this space with our friends and family, but as the saying goes…friends of friends cannot invite friends.

You’ve done a bunch of building off-grid. Will you plan to build the entire site off-grid for future use?

It’s been super cool doing a bunch of construction offgrid by recharging our portable batteries through solar and our electric vehicles. We do plan to utlize our community power grid; however, we will include a very large solar deployment and leverage as many sustainable building practices as we possibly can.
